ALMACENES JAVIER OPENS ITS DOORS FOR THE SECOND TIME TO THE STUDENTS OF ALDEAMAYOR DE SAN MARTIN.

This is the second time that this educational center participates together with the Valladolid company in this initiative, promoted by the Family Business Association of Castilla y León (EFCL) and the Ministry of Education throughout the community in order to promote entrepreneurial and business vocations among the youngest.

 The schoolchildren of the CEIP Miguel Delibes of Aldeamayor de San Martín (Valladolid) are having the opportunity to have direct contact with the business world thanks to the program “Family Business in the classrooms”, in which they are participating with the company Almacenes Javier.

This is the second time that this educational center participates together with the Valladolid company in this initiative, promoted by the Family Business Association of Castilla y León (EFCL) and the Ministry of Education throughout the Community in order to promote entrepreneurial and business vocations among the youngest.

In this second edition, there are more than fifty students of 6th grade of Primary who are taking part in the program, which began on February 12 with the talk given at the school by the director of Almacenes Javier, Neil Fernández, who told the students the origins and evolution of this gift firm founded in 1947 by his grandfather.

Thus, he explains to schoolchildren the constant evolution that has had since then of this company, initially dedicated to the sale of jewelry and toys, and later of jewelry items and later opening several gift shops.

Currently, the firm is focused on the commercialization of gift items for tourists and sells more than 4500 references of different products, with a portfolio of clients exceeding 3500 throughout Spain.

In his talk, the CEO of Almacenes Javier also highlighted the importance of the family business and its values, citing as an example of them entrepreneurship, closeness, leadership, roots, commitment, effort and continuity.

The participation of the students in the Program “Family business in the classroom” is completed with the visit that will take place next Wednesday to the headquarters of Almacenes Javier de Aldeamayor de San Martin, modern facilities of more than 10,000 square meters, with which they will be able to know on the ground their activity.

In addition to Almacenes Javier, six other Valladolid companies are also part of this initiative, Bodegas Grupo Yllera, Castilla Termal Hoteles, Eguia Group, Bodega Dehesa de los Canónigos, ESI Valladolid and Madison MK, which are developing the program with 320 students from 7 educational centers in the province of Valladolid. In total, there are 28 family businesses associated with the EFCL that are taking part in the second edition of the program along with 32 educational centers throughout the Community so that the program will reach more than 100 students of 6th of Primary, 3rd and 4th of ESO and 1st of baccalaureate.

“Family Business in the classroom” is part of the initiative ‘The fruit of values’ launched by EFCL to disseminate the contribution of the family business in its environment and the characteristic values that define this type of companies and their promoters and that are directly related to education, such as effort, perseverance, commitment, entrepreneurship, leadership or responsibility.
